September Happenings

Acelyn started out the month by showing off her bow collection thus far.  We love having a ton of bows to choose from for each outfit... and it's only growing from here!!

Afterwards, we tried getting some sibling pics in their matching shirts... which was a complete fail, but made for some funny pictures.

We spent an afternoon at Bass Pro Shops and watched the fish in the huge aquarium.  Nolan loves walking through the store, and his favorite part is checking out the boats.

Acelyn had the cutest Labor Day outfit and showed off her cuteness for Mommy snapping away at pictures.  We spent an afternoon at Target, and lost this big red Lennon and Co. bow, so these are our last pictures of it. RIP.  It was one of our favs!

I made a chocolate chip banana bread that looked amazing, but tasted weird.   I'm pretty sure I added too much flour, so that was a big fat fail!

Nolan had soccer practice and the babies of Team Green Beans chilled together in their carseats (and no, that's not how I strap her in... calm down, everyone!)

At practice, the kiddos played Red Light, Green Light as a dribbling drill, which they all loved!  Jessica and Amber do an amazing job as coaches of these littles.  It's not easy- as you can see... everyone tends to bunch up a lot, there's tears and chaos, but it's hilarious and we love it!

Acelyn turned 4 months old!

We spent a Saturday at Town Square to check out their Lucky Duck festival.  Of course we were suckered into buying one for $5 for a chance to win $250,000... and of course, that 250K duck wasn't pulled so no one won (whomp, whomp).  Nolan did love seeing all the cool booths and thousands of ducks in the pond, and even got a picture with the giant duck, himself!

The Ravens played their first official game of the season, so of course we dressed ourselves from head to toe to represent for our team!

We started decorating for Fall, and Nolan loved helping out by decorating his own window on our sliding glass door.  He rearranges these on the daily and luckily, they've stayed pretty sticky, thus far!

Acelyn has been obsessed with her toes, and absolutely loves grabbing them and shoving them in her mouth.

She looked adorable one night, passed out as I carried her upstairs for bedtime.

We received our first few items from @Ellascraftsandmore and had fun photoshoots to show off our goodies!  This Dorothy flutter sleeve dress screams fall and we love it paired with lots of accessories, and I'm obsessed with the kitty cat print paired with our J&J tights.  Having a girl is SO much fun!

Nolan quickly crashed our shoot and wanted to get in some of the pictures, and tried being silly to make sissy laugh.  She just kind of stared him down, instead.

We spent an evening out with the kiddos and our friends at the Greek Festival!  It was packed to say the least, so when we spotted this spot in a construction site about a mile away, which was the closest we could find, we snagged it!  Nolan was completely worried that the trunk was up against the dirt and kept insisting, "Uh oh! Oh no, Mommy!" When we got inside, it was wall to wall people, but it was so enjoyable and we chowed down on a ton of Greek food that was really, really delicious!  It was great to hang out with our friends for the night and it was nice being able to see Alexis as she was visiting town, too.  Nolan's favorite part was riding the choo-choo, and he wouldn't stop talking about it for days afterwards.  It was a gorgeous night out and we were happy to enjoy it with good friends, music and food! {sad part: I dropped my phone and broke it the next day, so subsequently lost some of my photos and cute videos of Nolan on the train... boo.  These were all I had left!}

We spent a Tuesday at Ikea shopping and eating lunch in their cafe.  Nolan loved sitting next to the huge windows and watching all the trucks drive by, and really loved getting three pieces of candy before we left!  He was so excited he asked to take his picture with his candy before getting in the car. Haha!

We enjoyed some fall showers over the course of a couple days, and I let Nolan play outside in it one morning.  He loved it and requested his rain jacket, even though it's getting way too small for him!

We met up with the Luks boys and Jess one morning at the park, where these two decided to Superman swing (i.e.: Hudson swings like crazy and Nolan timidly tries to follow!)  Love these two and their friendship!

Fall has been bringing in cooler temps, so we decided to dress the part with some tights and cozy blankets one afternoon!

The kiddos were cracking each other up after naps in the afternoon.  They would basically just look at each other and laugh, which was the cutest thing ever.  Moments like this are the absolute best and make my heart melt into a million pieces.

We enjoyed a double rainbow after another storm before dinner one evening.

Nolan's favorite thing to do on Thursdays is to sit at our front door and wait for the garbage truck to come by.  He has a slight obsession with all things trucks, so this is right up his alley.

Acelyn wore her Howdy onesie from her Auntie Bobbie in Austin, and showed off her chunky thighs with her Daisy Duke bloomers.  soooo cute!

Jason worked late one night so we met him down at CPK for dinner at The Park outside T-Mobile Arena.  Nolan was super well behaved through the whole dinner which led us to spoil him with this ice cream sundae (that we had no idea would be this huge!).  Soooo, Mommy may have helped eat some (most) of his dessert. Either way, he was STOKED for it!  Acelyn hung out in her carseat until she wanted to share in the action, too.  Too bad she could only look, not taste!

She's been hard at work this month learning to roll and sit up on her own.  The rolling isn't progressing nearly as fast as her sitting skills.  She's pretty much got it mastered!

Nolan had his first official soccer game!  He was SO excited to get to wear his awesome GREEN uniform for Team Green Beans, and we took a few pictures outside before we left and also before his game started at the fields.  I wish I could say he was as excited to play as he was to wear his gear... he definitely struck up a huge bought of separation anxiety about a week before, and this was just a big trigger for him to freak out.  During warming up, he did fine, kicking the ball with his friends and running around while I snapped most of these pictures, since he was still happy and calm.  Soon enough, once the game started, he refused to play and was terrified of me leaving him in the game alone.  I let him sit on the sides but tried to get him to go in with me at his side, which worked only once and for about a minute and a half... and then the whistle blew for half time, and the whole process started all over again!  It's a work in progress and we're trying to navigate his anxiety by finding a balance between pushing him a bit out of his comfort zone to play, but not too much to cause chaos and stress.  It's a fine line, for sure, and we're hoping he can overcome just a little bit of anxiety each game.  Either way, he'll learn to support his team and cheer them on, even if he doesn't play, and watching these games is beyond entertaining!  We quickly learned at our first game that 2-4 year olds playing soccer consists of much more tears and than actual game playing, and luckily Nolan wasn't the only one that was dealing with this!  Here's to hoping the rest of the season goes with improvement rather than a downward spiral! :)

Aaaaand cue the crying... Gah!

Acelyn repped for Team Grean Beans by wearing her soccer ball shirt (haha) and a green bow!  She looked mighty adorable and hammed it up for the camera.

Acelyn has found a new favorite in her toy blocks, and absolutely loves when we throw them at her.  She dies of laughter every time.  She's gotten so much better at sitting up by playing with these!

Another first this month consisted of Acelyn's first food!  She had her first taste of organic rice cereal, and although the first few bites gave her a funny face, she quickly figured out what it was and girl could not let me spoon it in fast enough.  Ever since, we've been doing cereal/oatmeal once a day, at dinnertime, and she can't get enough of it!  She loves it and I can't wait to start giving her a taste of real food and all the different flavors to try soon enough.

I snapped such a cute picture of little lady napping it up one day, in her Snuggle is Real shirt, which made me want to snuggle right up next to her and nap, too.

Nolan made Acelyn crack up again one night after dinner, laughing so hard that the videos don't even do it justice.  She loves him so much and it warms my heart to see them play together.

On the last day of the month, the kiddos wore their matching skeleton jammies to ring in the first of October for when they woke up in the morning.  This is the first time they've worn matching outfits and you can bet your booty we'll be doing it for every holiday!  SO CUTE!!

We can't wait to kick off the holiday season this coming month!  We will have lots to do with Halloween events and dressing up, trick or treating, and that's just the start of the fall/holiday fun!  BEST time of the year!
