Bump Watch: 33 Weeks

How far along? 33 weeks, 4 days
Total weight gain: Unofficially 25 pounds total... although probably a couple more after today's Thanksgiving dinner!
Maternity clothes? Mostly yes, still some that aren't.
Stretch marks? Still nothing yet, yay!
Sleep:  It's pretty much guaranteed that I will wake up at least once to pee now during the night.  Luckily, I can fall back asleep fairly quickly.  My cold that I've had this week has made it miserable to breathe at night though!
Best moment this week: Thanksgiving dinner and leftovers!  Also finishing Nolan's closet and having a "system" set up for his clothes and storage!
Miss Anything? Nothing in particular, lately!
Movement: Lots of movement... I can tell he feels squished in there!  (see video in previous post)
Food cravings: French toast is still a favorite!  Pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner was also extra yummy, which is funny because I don't normally love it!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender prediction: No more predicting... it's a boy!

Labor Signs: Still nothing!  Waiting for the week I can put.. YES! as an answer!  Kind of scary!
Symptoms: Feeling super pregnant.  At night time, I feel extremely heavy and tired.  When we're on the couch watching T.V. in the evenings, Jason is a great hubby and gets water and snacks for me because I'm already so lazy to get off the couch!  Reflux has become rough at night, but other than that and fatigue, I still have it pretty easy as far as symptoms go!
Belly Button in or out? Stretched really far and sometimes pokes out.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and tired!
Looking forward to: Starting to think about really getting things together for this baby... In the next few weeks, I'll start washing some of his clothes, packing my hospital bag, getting our car seat installed... all of these things making it more and more real that he's going to be here in about 40 days!!!! (Holy crap!)  Also- I'll be decorating for Christmas this week!  My favorite holiday of the year... I just may need a little extra help putting up the tree! :)

Baby Shower!

My friends and family hosted a great baby shower for me and the little man in the beginning of the month.  With lots of food and great company, it made for a memorable day that I am super grateful for!  I had friends come in from out of town for it and it was the perfect way to end the fun, eventful weekend we had together!

Lots of love and gifts from friends and family

Diaper cake my mom made
Barefoot Wine favors for the guests
Awesome cake!  The inside was lemon cake with raspberry jam... my favorite!
We had lots of yummy snacks and finger foods that my mom mostly made, which included pasta and potato salads, chips and dips, veggie trays, deviled eggs, and a tray of yummy Capriotti's sandwiches (the Bobbie was a hit!)  We talked and mingled, and the girls checked out Nolan's ultrasound pictures as well as comparison pictures of mine and Jason's baby pics!  It was an overwhelming response that little baby Nolan is going to look a lot like his Daddy.

Nolan and I were spoiled with so many great gifts!  The first gift I opened I was shocked- one of my best friends, Erin, handmade an amazing, cozy blanket for Nolan.  I had no idea she even knew how to crochet, so it was a shock to all of us when she told us she had made it herself!  It's a special blanket that I know we will keep for a long, long time!

Scarlett was my little helper throughout opening gifts.  She would hand each one to me, help me unwrap, and discard the paper to the garbage.  She's just as excited for baby Nolan (baby No-wen, is how she pronounces his name, in the cutest little voice!) to get here as we are!

Nolan will be sporting the UNR onesies thanks to Auntie Stacey!  Go Pack!

After gifts, it was cake time, which again Scarlett helped in passing out each piece to everyone, until she decided she would need her own piece to nibble on!  Who could blame her... it was super yummy!

We played a couple fun games, one of which was a prediction of baby Nolan's arrival date!  My good friend Jessica had contacted a few of my close relatives in Vermont to get their predictions as well, and had them already listed on the cute printout sheet.  That was so special to me to know that even though my family couldn't be at my shower in person, they were still able to share a part of the day with me through a fun activity!  Lots of guesses are past my due date... thanks, guys!  We didn't put ours on the sheet, but Jason and I also made our predictions:  Mommy thinks baby will be here on January 8th, weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20 inches long.  Daddy thinks baby will be here after I'm due... January 14th, weighing 7 lbs. even and 18 inches long.

The other game we played was piecing together pictures of Jason and I to predict what baby will look like!  This was a hilarious game with some funny results.  If our child looks anything like these pictures, I may be slightly disturbed!

My mom's and Erin's prediction
Jess and Scarlett's prediction
Whitney and Alexis had the same exact top predictions, Stacey's at the bottom
We had a great time celebrating the pending arrival of baby Nolan!  I couldn't have asked for better company to spend my shower with and am so thankful for the friends and family who contributed, whether in person or across the country.  Baby Nolan is so loved already and I know he's going to be spoiled with amazing friends and family in his life, too, and we couldn't be more appreciative of that!

Bump Watch: 30 Weeks

How far along? 30 weeks, 0 days  (We're in the homestretch!)
Total weight gain: 20 pounds when I measured at work this week!
Maternity clothes? Yep!  And occasional tops that aren't... but not often.  All my cardigans are non-maternity, and now that it's getting cooler out, I can still pair these with a cute belt and keep them open.  That's the plan for the next two months!
Stretch marks? Nothing yet, but I think they may be starting soon.... my belly is streeeeetching a lot lately!
Sleep:  I'm back to being SO exhausted again.... welcome to the third trimester, I guess!  Still waking up a few times a night tossing and turning, but still getting plenty of sleep, and good sleep!
Best moment this week: Celebrating Halloween with our friends and pigging out on candy ever since then.  The holiday season has started... a pregnancy woman's dream come true to eating everything and anything!
Miss Anything? Deli sandwiches and hot dogs again this week!
Movement: Still feeling lots of pokes and prods from body parts.  I'm getting pretty used to a little booty poking out often!  He's not as strong with his movements this week, so I'm not sure if he's moved positions or he's just way too smushed inside to move!
Food cravings: Still on the french toast kick.... I may have had 3 for breakfast yesterday morning!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!
Gender prediction: No more predicting... it's a boy!

Labor Signs: Nothing yet!
Symptoms: The body aches and soreness of pregnancy may have begun.  I find it exhausting to go shopping after work, even a simple trip to Target takes a lot out of me.  Starting to find it difficult to tie my shoes.  Nasal congestion this whole week and breathing like a creeper with my mouth open.  These lungs are getting a little cramped!  Speaking of cramps... those lovely calf cramps have started again!  I'm really starting to feel the pregnancy symptoms this past week, and only know it's just the beginning for the next 10 weeks!
Belly Button in or out? Out, although it still sinks in every now and then.  It's starting to stretch out even more and spread, so I'm thinking stretch marks are in my near future...
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Excited more and more, and exhausted!
Looking forward to: We start our Prepared Childbirth classes this week!  We will have classes for the next three Monday nights.  And my baby shower is this weekend!  My best friend Stacey will be coming into town on Thursday and staying until Monday.  Can't wait to celebrate this little guy with my family and friends!

October Happenings

With the start of the holiday season, this month was a bit busier than the last few months we've had!  Fall is our favorite season: we have the best weather, college football and NFL every weekend, pumpkin patches, decorating, and the start of a busy, busy holiday season!

To begin the month, our work helped Denise celebrate her baby girl's arrival with a baby shower held at our administrator's house across town.  We managed to snap a few pictures of our belly buddies!  Denise has been 10 weeks ahead of me through our pregnancies, and it's been great to compare our pregnancies as well as have someone to talk to about all things baby at work!  Once Nolan gets here, we'll definitely get together for some play dates!

Me @ 26 weeks, Denise @ 36 weeks!

We continued our tradition of visiting Gilcrease Orchards to pick our pumpkins and begin our fall season!

After we spent the day at the orchard, I got in the Halloween spirit and decorated the inside and outside of the house, and we decided to snap a few pictures of the bump since the weather was so nice outside!

27 Weeks

Harley took a nap in Nolan's nursery chair and looked super cute and comfy!

I may have splurged on the cutest outfit for baby boy at H&M....

We continued to make progress on Nolan's nursery, and most of it is complete, minus a few crafting details and getting everything together once we celebrate our baby shower next month.  I am so happy with how everything has been coming together for his room and the theme!  And Jason has been extra helpful, helping put up shelving and hanging pictures on the wall with me.  We love how it's coming along!

It's not finished yet, but it's a start on his collage wall!

At my 28 week appointment, I got to take the lovely Glucose Screening Tolerance Test.  Everyone complains at how awful this drink tastes and how horrible the test is... I had no problem chugging this baby down in 2 seconds!  It tasted like flat orange soda and wasn't the greatest, but I definitely was expecting much worse!  They draw blood an hour after to test for gestational diabetes and how the body handles high amounts of sugar.  So far, I've yet to receive a phone call from the doctor's office, so I think I may have passed and don't have gestational diabetes, which is great!

We got to see an inside look (literally!) at what baby Kelton is doing in my belly and how much he's grown at our 3D/4D Ultrasound!  I think this has been both mine and Jason's favorite moment of this whole pregnancy.  Simply amazing, and we are so in love with this baby already!

Finally, we celebrated Halloween at the end of the month!  Harley dressed up as a cowboy and was really serious about his costume...

I dressed the bump up for work and was happy that it was big enough to pull off the pumpkin well!

Halloween night, we joined the Luks' and went Trick or Treating with them in their neighborhood (which is three seconds from our neighborhood).  We did this last year and again this year, so I'm sure we'll be making a yearly tradition of trick or treating with all the kiddos as the years go on!  Scarlett and Hudson were dressed up as Sully and Mike from Monster's Inc.  So cute!!  Scarlett didn't want to take many pictures, but Hudson sure did ham it up!

The next two months are going to be even busier with the holidays coming up, plus preparing for baby!  I can't believe we're almost down to two months until his arrival!  We can't wait!!
