One Spoiled Furbaby!

We celebrated Harley's 4th birthday this month!  We figured since it would be his last year as our only fur baby, we would go the extra mile and spoil him even more than we usually do!  He got lots of fun new toys, which included some new chew bones, some treats, and a fun birthday cake stacker toy!  We usually try to avoid giving him any toy with stuffing in it, because he tends to tear them apart in about 2 minutes.  But, this birthday cake toy was too cute to pass up!  It surprisingly has lasted quite a while still and hopefully will stay in tact for a few more days!

Waiting patiently for his birthday gifts!

Thanks, Dad!

Having a complete blast with his new toys!

Tired after a hard day of playing :)

Later that night, we spoiled the fur baby again with a Pup Pie!  Harley never gets people food, so I was excited to see they make doggie birthday cakes and pies for him to enjoy!  We only allowed him to have a slice per night- so really he got to celebrate his birthday all week with a slice of pie each night after dinner!

YUM!
We are so overly obsessed with our dog and we wouldn't have it any other way!  We love our fur baby so much, and hope he does well with the new addition coming in January.  Even though we'll be adding a new baby to the mix, I know we are always going to spoil Harley just as much as we ever have... he's just too special!  Happy Birthday, Har!  We love you!!

Ultrasound #6.... What Nolan looks like!

This week, we had what will probably consist of our last ultrasound of this pregnancy!  At 28 weeks and 6 days, we had our 3D/4D Ultrasound at Vegas Baby! 4D Ultrasound, to see what baby Kelton actually looks like!  This was, by far, the thing I was looking most forward to our whole journey through pregnancy... and I must say, it didn't disappoint at all!  It made this little baby in my belly seem so much more real, and made me fall even deeper in love with him than before!  I can't believe how much detail the ultrasound can pick up, and we've been having fun trying to figure out what features resemble me or Jason.

When we first arrived, we started the ultrasound and saw that baby Nolan is super smushed inside my belly!  The ultrasound tech said it was because I am so petite and am all belly... and he really was smushed right up against my uterus to make for some difficult pictures!  We tried for 15 minutes and Nolan was fast asleep, snuggled in and not wanting to be bothered.  The tech explained she thought I had lower amniotic fluid levels, so she advised me to start drinking more water on a regular basis (ugh!  It's so hard already!)  After flipping from side to side, trying to get different angles with the ultrasound probe and having no success, we took a 5 minute break.  I emptied my bladder and the tech gave me a Coke to liven baby up!  This was my first soda I have allowed myself to drink all pregnancy... and it tasted amazing!  Even though I'm not a big soda person regularly, I chugged the whole thing down because it tasted so great, and was hoping this would get Nolan up and moving around!

Luckily, after our break, the tech explained that my fluid actually wasn't as low as she thought, it was just the positioning of the baby that made it look that way, and the simple fact that he is just SO squished and I have such a small belly!  She told me not to worry too much about what she had said earlier about my fluid and didn't want to freak me out, so that was a sigh of relief for me.  Finally, we were able to get some great pictures after he moved into position, and we got to see our little guy's features and watch him move, yawn, kick and hide.  We learned that he is 2.2 pounds and 14.8 inches!

Here are lots and lots of pictures of our little baby man!

Cupping his little hands together
Sleeping soundly, resting his hands under his chin
Little smirk!  Dreaming of meeting mom and dad!

Side profile shot

We got to hear his heartbeat, which once again was pretty consistent with what it has been at most ultrasounds and doctor's visits: a strong 146 bpm!

After waking him up, he shifted positions and started with lots of cute baby yawns!

Cheekbones!

THOSE LIPS!  I die.

He did lots of stretches and moving his head side to side.  The fact that I'm so petite and he is so squished in there really explains why I feel mostly jabs, body parts and stretches for his movements, rather than kicks and punches.  He did this a lot during the ultrasound, which resulted in the most ADORABLE double chin pictures!

He gave us fun little smiles here and there, and we got some close up shots of his ears and his fingers, which are freakishly long!  My mom said I had reallllllly long fingers when I was born, too... so we're thinking he's taking after me on that one!

Little smile!
Ear shot
LONG fingers!

We got to see lots of 2D pictures as well as the 3D but didn't get many on file.  This was one of the only profile shots in 2D that we got.

Finally, we got these last shots which are my favorite.  I still can't get over how much detail you can see in these pictures!  He definitely has Jason's lips, which I am completely in love with.  They are so perfect and kissable and I can't wait to kiss them when he gets here in January!  His chin could go either way.. some pictures it looks like my pointier chin, whereas other pictures show Jason's squared chin.  His nose and eyes are hard to tell, but we're thinking my eyes and Jason's nose, possibly.  At first, we thought he was 100% Jason, but the more I look at the pictures, I can sometimes see my baby pictures in him, too.  (Or I'm just trying too hard!)

Lips for days!
I can see me in this profile shot more than any others

Sweet boy
My favorite!!!

Overall, we were so satisfied with our experience and would highly recommend anyone to do the 3D/4D ultrasound at this stage of pregnancy.  It's so fun to see what baby looks like at this point, and it has made us so anxious for his arrival in a little over 10 weeks!  I can't believe that in just 2 months or so we'll be comparing these pictures while holding him in our arms!  I can't wait and hope these next two months fly by!!  We love you SO MUCH already, baby Nolan!

Bump Watch: 28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks, 0 days (whoops, may have skipped some weeks here... blame pregnancy laziness!)
Total weight gain: Not official until my appt. on Thursday, but about 17 pounds total so far.
Maternity clothes? It's rare that I'm not in a maternity shirt and/or leggings these days... I'll most likely be living in leggings the rest of this pregnancy!
Stretch marks? Still none, thank goodness!
Sleep:  This bump seems to make things a little more difficult rolling over during the night!  I've been sleeping with my maternity pillow every night lately, but am still not sleeping through the whole night without one toss or turn.  It's still not ruining sleep for me though... that will be a sad day!
Best moment this week: Crossing into the THIRD and FINAL trimester!  I can't believe it's finally here.  Also, finishing a majority of the nursery decor!  And feeling like I've definitely "popped"!  There's no denying I am PREGNANT now!
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach, for sure!
Movement: Yep!  Every day I'll get something out of him, which I should be at this point.  I've been trying to record a video, but it seems as though baby Nolan is camera shy.... I swear he knows when I'm filming because he stops moving the second I press record!  It's sad when I'm trying to sneak a video so my "in utero" baby can't "see" what I'm doing!
Food cravings: Cereal and french toast has been a favorite recently!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!
Gender prediction: No more predicting... it's a boy!

Labor Signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Lots of movement... mostly stretching and body parts poking.  Sometimes I feel like the waddle has begun already.... it seems way too early for that, though!  I also bought my first GIANT bottle of Tums Smoothies... my reflux seems to be getting worse.
Belly Button in or out? Mostly out, yet, recently baby must have switched positions because there are times when my belly button and part of my stomach are completely sunken back in!  It's so weird and gross looking.
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and getting more excited day by day!
Looking forward to: Another doctor's appointment this week.. anxious to ask the doctor where baby is positioned!  And the BEST thing we're looking forward to is our 3D/4D ultrasound on Saturday!  Can't wait to see what this baby looks like at 29 weeks!

Gilcrease Orchards, Year #2!

Last year, we started a tradition of picking pumpkins and starting off the fall season by visiting Gilcrease Orchards.  We made the drive across town to kick off our second year of pumpkin picking, and met up with the Luks' while we were there.  When we got there, we realized it was much busier than when we went last year!  There were a ton of pumpkins, and unlike the year before, there were many still attached right to the vine that we had to twist and rip off ourselves, which made the experience even more cool!  There were lots of green pumpkins also this year, compared to last.

We carefully walked throughout the pumpkin patch and selected the pumpkins we wanted... always the same every year: Jason has to get a huge, ugly, deformed looking pumpkin, which he calls "unique", and I like Cinderella pumpkins, if I can find them.  Harley always gets a little baby pumpkin, and of course, we had to add one to the mix this year for baby Nolan!

Since it was so busy when we got there, no wagons were left for us to carry our pumpkins back in.  Initially we figured this wouldn't be too much of a problem, yet, we realized we were totally mistaken!  My growing belly only let me carry the two small pumpkins, while Jason had to get a workout carrying the two large pumpkins all the way back to the entrance.  Needless to say, it was a long, hot, half-mile walk back!  We took lots of breaks in the apple orchards... poor Jason!

After paying for our pumpkins, we definitely had to get some apple cider donuts and apple cider before we left!  I have been craving these tasty things for months before the orchard even opened their fall pumpkin picking schedule, so I was determined to wait in line no matter how long it was going to take.  Baby Nolan neeeeeeeeeeeded to experience these donuts!!  I waited for about 15 minutes in line, and then we sat with the Luks' and scarfed enjoyed every last bite of the best donuts on earth.  YUM!

When we got home, we showed Harley his pumpkin and he approved of our selection for him!  We love going to this orchard and can't wait for next year when we will have the cutest little 9 month old to take along with us!

Happy Fall from the Keltons!
