The next day, she looked so pretty napping in her crib. I can't get enough sleepy pictures of this babe!
This month also started off with a big milestone for Acelyn: she started crawling! It's like out of nowhere, it clicked, and once she started, she was a pro and wasn't stopping any time soon!
Acelyn's pincher grasp has grown leaps and bounds this month and she's a champ at chowing down on some Cheerios!
We took a trip to PetsMart to take up some time during the day, and Acelyn was loving (or screaming at, I should say) this kitty. They also had a ton of HUGE bunnies for adoption that I really wanted to take home... but, we definitely don't have the space for them, plus I don't think Harley would agree!
Acelyn hid behind the curtains.
Acelyn got herself stuck in a bucket one morning while playing.
She tried blueberries for the first time, and I think she thought those first few bites were a bit sour! Either way, she still ate a ton of them and had a blast during lunch!
She also tried bananas for the first time, and wasn't a fan of their squishy texture. I covered them in crushed up Cheerios, and she decided those were much better!
Acelyn was really excited about having a tea party and gnawed on a pretend cookie.
We did some random, spur of the moment home renovations after getting a new kitchen dining table. We decided we wanted to lighten the rooms up a bit downstairs, so we wanted to repaint our mauve-y purple accent walls to gray. After going through one whole completed wall that we didn't like, we had the hardest time finding just the right gray... seriously, who knew that gray was SO hard to find the right tone!? The first try was way too blue... like a powder blue. Nope. The second try, we thought for sure we would like, because it is the gray that is in Acelyn's room, which we love. Well, apparently lighting makes alllll the difference, because this tone was way too brown downstairs. After painting 4 more samples on the wall, we finally decided on the right one and it came out perfect. We still have lots of decor to finish in both the kitchen and the newly renovated playroom (we took out our formal dining room because, honestly... who uses a formal table!?) So pictures will be up soon when it's all complete!
The kiddos learned the hokey pokey and love doing it with each other, cracking one another up!
Acelyn turned 8 months old!
We got a first piggy tail out of Acelyn's small bit of hair on her head, and it was to die for. This girl is actually losing more hair than she was born with... I don't know where it's all going, but I was happy to be able to gather this much to pony it up!
The weather was decent so we headed to the park to take some pictures for Nolan's birthday and to let the kids get some energy out. They had the best time and Acelyn loved being outside and experiencing the park. She loved swinging and having big brother push her, and wasn't too sure about sitting in the grass, at first. The weather was gorgeous and made for some fun and great photos! (Nolan's Three Year pictures to be posted soon!)
Acelyn was a cute and fresh bunny right out of the bath, and practiced her talking and her word of the week: Dada!
I prepped for Nolan's birthday party and switched out his birthday pictures that we take every year to display at his parties. I love keeping all the pictures in the frame to go through each year as I change them out, and I almost cried when I saw the comparison photos from the last three years.... where did my baby go!?
Nolan turned THREE years old and we celebrated with a Garbage Truck Trash Bash, with all of our friends!
We spent the next morning playing with new toys and taking a trip to the park for Nolan to try his new scooter. It took a few tries, but he quickly picked it up and scootered around everywhere, while taking a break for some swinging. Once he back at the scootering, Acelyn spent some time in the grass again.
On MLK Jr. Day, we headed to Republic Service's Southern Nevada Recycling Learning Center, where Nolan was in awe getting to see garbage trucks and the process up close!
Acelyn has a new favorite toy in the magnets up on the fridge, and she plays with them many, many times a day. They are the best and give me a second or two to unload the dishwasher or get some food together!
She wore some sunglasses and looked hilarious and adorable at the same time.
She looked so pretty when we moved her to bed with us one night.
We took our second trip of the month to Toys R' Us and both kids enjoyed riding on the choo-choo for Acelyn's first time!
A family of quails decided to hang out under our tree in the front, and Nolan loved watching them for a bit!
We spent the morning and had a picnic at the park with our friends Coen, Shaw and Jamie, and the boys insisted on holding hands with each other while running around. Adorbs.
Nolan's new favorite game is hide and seek, and Acelyn has quickly learned to love it, too. Her favorite part is counting and starting to search for him, while Nolan's favorite part is hiding... so it works out pretty well. Hopefully they will like it just as much when they can both do it by themselves when they are older!
Nolan crafted a cool Superhero mask and cuff that Auntie Stacey sent to him for his birthday. He was super excited to show her!
In typical Little Sis fashion, she bugged her bro by poking and luckily he thought it was funny (this time).
Harley thought he was the King and sat on top of all the blankets while we rearranged rooms upstairs.
We spent the day with our friends Coen, Shaw and Jamie again, at Sky Zone's Toddler Time, where we had a blast and can't wait to go back for another round! The boys loved bouncing on the trampolines, and although Nolan was really excited to run into the foam pit initially, he quickly changed his mind and decided it wasn't for him the remainder of our time there. Chase from Paw Patrol showed up randomly, so that was exciting! We spent 3 hours there and even Acelyn and Shaw enjoyed it (minus when Shaw poked her in the eye..haha)! Needless to say, it wore all the kiddos out, and it was a fun way to get out of the house and do something different!
The last weekend of the month, we got donuts at Donut Mania (the best) and I couldn't help put snap a picture of Acelyn all in pink with the pink wall! And of course, since Sissy took pictures, Nolan wanted some, too!
Acelyn played with the pretend cell phones and learned to say "Hi!" (Although she has only said it one other time since, so maybe it was a fluke.)
We enjoyed another park day with our besties, which really just turned into a bunch of kiddos rolling around on the ground when trying to take pictures. Hudson gave Acelyn tons of attention and loved on her, and of course, she loved it!
Acelyn ended the month just as she started it... looking adorable as ever, napping away!
...Until next month!
