With the arrival of fall, my planning goes into overdrive for seasonal and holiday activities around town to do with the kids. It's probably one of my favorite times of the year, because there are just SO many fun things to see and do from the start of October all the way until the end of the Christmas season! So, as October comes upon us.... my planning begins!
This year, we were lucky to be able to preview the newest indoor Halloween experience in town at Tivoli Village... Operation Halloween! We were invited to their media night preview, and we were totally impressed with their festive, hands-on activities for the whole family, and the kids had the best time in each of their five themed rooms and over 55 minutes of imaginative fun!
Operation Halloween provides a safe and "not so scary" Halloween experience for all ages. It takes a different approach at Halloween and ditches the scare, gore and spookiness by replacing it with so much magic, imagination and FUN! I'll give a short preview of our experience, but I also don't want to give too much away as to ruin the surprise for your visit!
When we arrived, we were greeted at check in and were told to wait for our Magic Maker tour guide, Carol, who had a password to share with the kids to enter their adventure. Nolan was the lucky one picked to hear the password whispered to him, and once he remembered what it was, the doors opened and we entered our first room- the carnival room!
The carnival room was Nolan's favorite, according to him. He loved playing all the games and earning tokens for each. Acelyn was all about receiving some cotton candy and treats, and I loved that the first room was inviting and fun, making the kids excited to get to the next surprise room!
Next up, the Witch's Room, where all the kids are invited to sit around the table and help make their own brew of magic slime! Nolan also loved this part, and really played into all the magic and imagination the cast put into the storyline!
In the next room, the kids were able to pick their own pumpkins to take home (and very generous sized ones, at that)!
Continuing our journey through, we entered the Superhero room next, which was a great way for the kids to run out their energy by pretending to run, fly and jump with actual superheroes- Spiderman himself made a special appearance! Acelyn and Nolan spent a majority of their time on the trampoline, but there was also a rock wall, a zip line, a fun virtual interaction game and other ways to climb and jump throughout. Again, the cast here was super interactive and helped the kids so much with all the activities.
As we gathered our shoes and pumpkins, we continued to the last room, traveling down the rabbit hole to the Queen's Garden to visit the Mad Hatter, who was set up for a complete tea party and pumpkin decorating fun! This room was my favorite, because it was decorated SO cute, and I loved the mushroom table and fun treats scattered through the room. Acelyn was all about her tea and drank down her cup ASAP, while Nolan was super focused on decorating his pumpkin with as many purple stickers as he could!
As we finished up our visit, a quick photoshoot stop was a must, and we were able to take both a silly Photo Booth series as well as a cute, decorated set photo from the venue. We had the best time full of magic and imagination, and as it's great for all ages, I think the real target age hit right where Nolan is at - that preschool to early elementary aged kids will get the most out of this! He loved it and talked about it for days! As adults, it was so fun to watch the kids get brought into a storyline and really be involved in the experience, which is something rare to find and a great aspect of a holiday event to have!
If you are local to Las Vegas, you definitely need to add this to your Fall/Halloween bucket list! Operation Halloween runs from October 5th - October 31st, and tickets are available now! To save on your purchase, use code "Kel10" at checkout, and can be found through our link here!
You'll definitely want to hit up Operation Halloween to make some great seasonal memories! Be sure to check it out and let the kids experience the not-so-spooky side of Halloween this year by using their imagination to the fullest!
