Once Harley finished opening his stocking, Nolan was ready to open his! All throughout opening his stocking and even his gifts (both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), Nolan was so serious! He would barely crack a smile, and I think he was extremely concentrated on figuring out how to open these things and what was inside! Plus, with all of the holiday hustle and bustle, little man was just exhausted! Either way, he did a great job and we enjoyed watching him experience Christmas for the first time!
His stocking was filled with lots of goodies, like small toys, puffs, and some new sippy cups and water bottles! His favorite was definitely his Elmo sippy... in which he took with him everywhere the rest of the day!
After stockings, we ate our traditional breakfast (Cinnamon rolls every year!) and Nolan chowed down on them... he rarely gets a treat like that for breakfast! Once we were cleaned up and done eating, we went into the family room to open our gifts! Nolan was all business and super serious again as we opened gifts, but he got excited once he realized there were toys that he could play with underneath all that wrapping paper! He was really excited for his big gifts from Santa, and loved opening his Alphabet Train. He opened some super cute clothes from Aunt Janet and Uncle Ronnie, and a fun Bubble Guppies bus set from Uncle Jeff! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts!
Since little man was so spoiled by his family and Santa, and it was getting close to nap time, he had a little meltdown towards the end.... he was over it. But he quickly got over his temper tantrum once he saw his new Elf on the Shelf (to use for next Christmas) and got super excited for his new Laugh and Learn House that Santa brought! Our last gift we opened was a little package left in the tree from Santa Mouse! We knew it had to be from him since it was wrapped in yellow ribbon and left on the branches, right where we put a piece of cheese for him to take the night before! Santa Mouse was pretty smart, because he brought Nolan a fun Elmo toothbrush that we had been needing! We snapped some pictures in our PJs before his nap and before another meltdown... and then off to nap time Nolan went!
Once we were finished with our gifts, we had a huge mess and a happy home. :) We played the rest of the morning until Nolan's morning nap, and then he quickly went down before the rest of our festivities continued. When he woke back up, we got ourselves dressed for the day, and Nolan sported his adorable Christmas bow tie and showed off his cute outfit. We took some pictures in front of our tree, but he was much more interested in all the cool new toys everywhere! We played some more until my Dad came over. We spent some time with him and exchanged gifts, and Nolan continued to be spoiled with more and more gifts and love!
Later that afternoon, Jason's Dad and my Mom came over to celebrate the day. I was cooking my first Christmas dinner, with a baked ham and all of the fixings. My mom helped, of course, and we enjoyed another yummy dinner. Nolan loved it so much but was so tired, he was starting to get goofy delirious. Silly boy got so messy from his food and soaking wet from his sippy cup.... and then went down again for his afternoon nap!
That evening, we spent time with our family and enjoyed all of our new gifts. Nolan had a blast playing and showing off all of his new things. He was obsessed with his CAT truck and insisted on following it around after he pressed the button each time. He thought his new Chatter Phone was hilarious, and loved watching the eyes go up and down when it was pulled (thanks, Vicky!)
Overall, we had the BEST holiday and can't believe how well Nolan's first Christmas went. We truly are so lucky not only to be blessed with all of the wonderful gifts and love we received, but to have the best little baby and the ability to see Christmas in a whole different way now that he's here with us... through his eyes! I know it will only get better as he gets older, but I can't imagine another Christmas topping this one!
