November Happenings

This month, Nolan has started to get into everything and really develop into a tiny toddler!  It's amazing to see how much he has changed in just one month.  Here's a look into our November:

We spent the first weekend eating out, and Nolan practiced using a straw... which really meant Mommy dripped water into his mouth and he made a mess sucking on it himself.

He spent his afternoon walking around the house, dressed to a tee:

We visited the Shark Reef the weekend of Halloween, and they still had it decorated and also offered Trick or Treating all weekend!  Nolan cashed in on some Goldfish and Teddy Grahams, and loved seeing all the fun decorations that were set up.  He loved the fish (as always) and tried to touch everything he could get his hands on!  We love visiting the Shark Reef and it never disappoints.  On our way out, we took a fun selfie on the Shark Reef Cam.

We got our Thanksgiving decorations out, and Nolan loved reading his turkey books every day.

We styled Nolan's hair different since it's gotten so long and crazy!  I still refuse to cut it... maybe by his first birthday I will give in. :)

Nolan continued his obsession with his dog-dog and played fetch with him!

His activity level has definitely increased and into everything, walking everywhere and trying to break into the baby gates!

I crafted some more and made a Thanksgiving wreath.  The picture was taken at night so it doesn't really do it justice, but it turned out awesome!

I ended my 10 month relationship with my Medela pump and exclusive pumping!  So excited to have some time back but also a little sad that Nolan is growing up!

Nolan got his first "big" booboo by falling into the baby gate.  No blood was shed but there was a pretty nasty bruise almost immediately following the incident.  He cried for a long time and I felt terrible that I couldn't make him feel any better.  Once he stopped crying though, he acted as if nothing had happened and was his normal, happy self again.

After hosting a Jamberry Nails party, I received all my nail wraps and decided to try these out first.  Love them!

Another cute photosesh happened during lunch one afternoon.

Nolan has gotten very good at shaking his head, "NO!"

Nolan started walking on his own, this month!

Nolan turned 10 months old!

I snapped a picture of Nolan's awesome hair after a bath one night.  It's so fine that it won't stay up like this on its own... I wish it would because it looks amazing!

We had a sweatpants and sweatshirt party one afternoon when the weather started cooling down.

Nolan has started a weird obsession of having to constantly carry something around all.the.time.  Usually it is this blue ball that lights up.  He will carry it around while he's walking, cruising the furniture, scooting, eating, and even would bring it to the bath and bed if I let him.  I think it's a normal, age appropriate attachment thing... Don't even dare take it away from him, or you'll experience the wrath of Nolan!

We took a video of Nolan being his typical, goofy self:

Hudson turned 2 this month, and although I didn't take any pictures at his party, I did snap a picture of the gift I crafted for him.  I was super proud of my cool fire truck that I made as his gift box (his theme was Paw Patrol)!

We (and by we, I mean Jason) renovated our kitchen this month!  Jason put a lot of hard work and man-hours into this project and it turned out amazing.  We had been planning to redo our cabinets since before Nolan was born, but never got around to doing it.  He finally took two solid weekends and about 40 total hours of work, and here is our finished kitchen!  We love it so much and it really pulls the look of our home together.

Nolan has become even more "all boy" and has started throwing his toys with more force... and he was really determined to get these toys flying!

We've gotten into a habit of treating Nolan to PetsMart when we run errands, if it is close by.  He absolutely loves going to see all the animals, and freaks out over the birds.  He will sit and watch the birds for hooooouuuurs and laughs so hard at them when they fly or chirp!  He also loves to watch the fish, the kitties in the windows, and the dogs when they are out "exercising" in their daycare room.  I love knowing it's so simple to just take him in a store and he can have an amazing time by watching things!

Nolan had a cranial band appointment, and little did we know, it would be our last one!  He was discharged from his helmet therapy and now has a perfect, round little noggin!  After 4 weeks of full-time wearing and 8 weeks of part-time wearing, Nolan graduated and we couldn't be happier with our decision to helmet him.  Here is a before and after to prove our point!  (Also, we both couldn't remember his head being this flat!  Holy cow, was it bad!  So glad we chose to do this).

Little man has learned to "reach" for things as well as point, and sometimes, he tries so hard to reach for something he wants that he just looks ridiculous doing so.  This instance was a prime example:

Nolan learned how to give hugs to stuffed animals (people, too), and I about died when he started loving on my old Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal.  He also cracks up when his Scout dog has the hiccups, and it's even funnier watching him laugh than he thinks!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at our house again this year, and Nolan enjoyed his first turkey day with the family!  He started his morning off in a bad mood, but quickly got over it once our guests arrived.  We celebrated with my mom and Jason's dad just like previous years, and I cooked the turkey and had help from my mom with the side dishes.  It tasted great, as always, and Nolan enjoyed tasting all the new foods!  He ate everything we ate- turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn, etc.  He even joined us for dessert with pumpkin pie and chocolate raspberry cake!  We spent the rest of the day playing with Nolan, watching football, and shopping online and planning our Black Friday route.  Overall it was a nice, calm Thanksgiving and I'm so glad Nolan had a great first one!

The day after Thanksgiving, my mom and I went to a few stores for Black Friday, and then I returned and immediately started decorating the house for Christmas!  We started with the tree first, and Nolan was amazed by the lights!

Finally, on the last day of the month, we visited Santa at Bass Pro Shops!  They had trains, games, and lots of fun decorations all set up in the Winter Wonderland, and while we waited in line, Nolan had a blast checking all of this out and trying on some reindeer antlers.  He was excited to see Santa from afar, and kept pointing to him.  Once we got up to Santa, Nolan started reaching for his fluffy beard and hat, and I sat him down on Santa's lap.  The second I took one step back, Nolan started with the pouty face, and about .5 seconds later, started screaming.  Luckily the camera snapped right before the meltdown, but Santa's face in the picture is preparing for the worst!

While we were at Bass Pro, we of course had to check out the big fish in the aquariums, both in the shop and in the Silverton.  Nolan didn't get to visit with any mermaids this time, but he did take some pictures in front of their giant, pretty Christmas tree!

The holidays have been SO fun with Nolan so far, and I know December will be even more exciting with all things CHRISTMAS!  ...Until then!
