March Happenings

In the beginning of the month, we took advantage of the Bank of America Museums program and checked out the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.  We had never been and didn't have very high expectations, but it was a good way to spend a weekend day!  Nolan really enjoyed seeing all the animals when we first arrived, and thought some of them were "scary" but wasn't actually scared of them.

We moved on to the ocean room where we saw lots of different fish and some big whales!  Next up was by far Nolan's favorite- the dinosaur room.  He loved making the giant T-Rex roar over and over again, and spent a good chunk of time just hanging out watching him.

The children's area was fun, and Nolan enjoyed playing with the different activities they had available.  The bubble viewing area for some tropical fish was really cool, and Nolan liked to call them all "Nemos".  He spent some time in the submarine before we sat down to watch a fun Meet and Greet with some Little Critters!  Nolan was super brave and got to touch a tarantula with Daddy, while Mommy passed on that one. :)   We moved on to check out the animals in the Africa exhibit before spending some time outside playing on the museum's playground, and then heading home for the afternoon.  Although it was a little old and not the most eventful museum, it was still a great way to spend a day!

Harley started out his March by stretching out and relaxing to the max on the couch, just like every morning!

We enjoyed lots of nice weather this month by welcoming Spring and playing outside in the backyard again!  Nolan was extra happy about getting to use his playset again with the warming weather!

Little baby lady has been extra active this month, and I've been trying to capture her crazy movements on camera for weeks.  I finally got one that only shows a fraction of how she moves in my belly... It's like she knows the second I hit record, she goes silent!  She is SO much more active than Nolan was in my belly... which freaks me out, thinking she's going to be a wild one outside the womb!  (28 weeks in video)

Nolan pulled his best Elvis impression while sporting his sunglasses in the car.

We tried a new breakfast joint, The Kitchen Table, and had a yummy breakfast outside on the terrace.  They played music through some outside speakers set up right next to us, and Nolan thought it was the coolest thing to be able to get down and jam it out while waiting for his food and after he ate, too.  He had lots of dancing to do and wasn't shy about it!

After breakfast, we met up with my Mom and got a peek at what Baby #2 looks like in our 3D/4D ultrasound!

Nolan found a sweet new ride at TJ Maxx... and luckily it was broken so it couldn't drive throughout the store.

I've been pigging out on ice cream almost every night while we binge watch VICE on HBO Go for the past 3 weeks straight... and have zero shame about it.

We attended the City of Henderson's St. Patrick's Day parade for the first time and had a great time!  Nolan was super excited to go to a parade and talked about it all morning.  We got there just a bit before it started, and found a spot towards the beginning of the parade across from the carnival.  Nolan got all set up with his snacks and water, chillin' on his blanket and waited for the parade to begin.  When it started, he was really into and focused on the bagpipes and waved Hi! to the big firetruck and firefighters.  The St. Patrick's Day Easter Bunny made an appearance and gave a wave, and Nolan reallllllly wanted to touch the horses that pranced by!

The Star Wars entry was a huge hit with everyone, and Nolan spotted it from SO far away!  He kept repeating Star Wars! Star Wars! but then got a little intimidated as all the Storm Troopers marched by, although he managed to give some serious waves to them.  Another favorite of ours was the Dachshund club that wagged by!  Nolan knew right away that they looked just like his Harley!

Nolan loved getting the candy that they would throw out, and hoarded his stash while sucking down his lollipop.  The fun little cars made their way by, and this guy was having a blast.  Shortly after, Nolan got to high five and dance with this crazy looking guy and thought he was pretty funny.

We didn't realize how long the parade was, so we decided we would cut out early and check out the carnival before heading home for lunch.  Mommy decided to splurge and get some funnel cake, which was actually one of the best funnel cakes we've had!  SO yummy!  Nolan ran around while we found a quiet spot in the grass and chowed down.  We walked around and although we didn't ride any rides, we had a fun morning enjoying the beautiful weather and getting to partake in a fun tradition I hope to be able to attend year after year!

One night after dinner, Nolan randomly lined up all of his stuffed animal friends and then laid down to join them for "nap time".

Before bath time, Nolan totally rocked a man bun to match Mommy's top knot and looked absolutely adorable doing so.

The next morning, Harley actually let Nolan use him as a pillow.

On St. Patrick's Day, we met our friends Jamie and Coen at Krispy Kreme for a fun St. Patty's Day donut date!  The boys enjoyed some festive donuts and then ran around on a sugar high.  We split ways so Nolan could get a haircut and they could run errands, but met back up at the park to play and grab some lunch before our Dancing with Miss Jenny class in the afternoon.

That night for dessert, we enjoyed some Lucky Charms rice krispee treats, which were surprisingly really good!  Nolan thought they were super fun and inhaled his in minutes.  Afterwards, Nolan put in his March Madness picks by choosing his bracket!  These printables were so fun and he actually chose each and every one of his teams to move forward.. mostly based on mascots he preferred and colors!  He picked Oregon for the win... because if you know what the mascot looks like... He's verrrrry similar to Donald Duck, so it only makes sense!

I took a selfie while feeling huge.

We had a little contraction scare which led to a few hours in Labor & Delivery... but all is good, now!

I snagged some daffodils from Trader Joe's because... Spring.

We spent an Easter Egg Hunt at Tivoli Village and had a blast!

Nolan and I took some silly selfies on Snapchat.

We spent the morning at another Egg Hunt from the City of Henderson, and then when we came home for nap time, I caught little Miss rolling around in my belly, all alien-like!

We had a great Easter Day, being spoiled by the Easter Bunny and then enjoying a nice dinner at Grandma's.

I hit 33 weeks in this pregnancy, and scheduled our C-Section date for May 12th as baby girl's birthday- if she decides to stay put that long!

Our Tot School adventures continued and we covered themes like Colors and Shapes, and celebrated St. Patrick's Day and Easter themed weeks, too!

We ended the month by taking it easy around the house and running just a few errands during the week, in hopes to keep the contractions at bay.  Nolan had to sport his awesome new Cookie Monster shoes... because you're only 2 once!

...Until next month!
