Acelyn chowed down on some yogurt and kept snapping at the spoon like a crocodile, it was just that good!
We hit up the Antique store in search of a wooden rocking horse and some other vintage decorations for Acelyn's first birthday pictures and party, and Nolan had a blast looking at all the cool stuff he had never seen before. We came across a knight in shining armor, and we saw lots and lots of trucks and cars and vintage toys that I used to play with! He thought it was the best thing ever. By the end of our visit, I actually found the perfect rocking horse, exactly what I wanted!
We met Daddy for dinner before he went out and worked late, and decided to try Lazy Dogs at Town Square. The weather was gorgeous so we decided to eat on the patio, not realizing the patio was intended for actual dogs to eat on, too! We were surrounded by dogs at three different tables, which the kids thought was the absolute greatest thing. Acelyn couldn't contain her excitement and wanted to go, go, go instead of sitting around waiting for our food, while Nolan enjoyed watching all the cars on Las Vegas Blvd. and all the planes fly in and out of the airport. It made for an eventful dinner!
She tried her first snowcone and even though she made some funny faces, she kept asking for more, so it must have been okay to her!
Acelyn made the cutest bunny after her bath, living up the Easter hype!
Acelyn turned 11 months old!
I tried snapping some pictures of both kids while taking Acelyn's 11 month photos... which did not turn out well and left me with real life photos like this one. At least I tried?
Nolan got a scooter for his birthday, and now that the weather has been so nice, we've been taking walks around the block to practice his scooter skills. This was his first time around the whole block and he did great! Acelyn had fun in her push-trike, too, despite the face she's making.
The kids read sweetly together, and Harley joined in on the festivities.
Later that afternoon, we met up with the Luks' at the park where the kids played, swung, and loved on each other. Hudson picked Acelyn a flower, which she then ate, and she had lots and lots of waves for everyone on our walk back to the house.
I received the best email with Acelyn's silhouette attachment from Dapper and Darling, and I absolutely fell in love with it! We used it to display at her party and it is now in her room for decoration. I love that it's such a great keepsake!
We had Acelyn's one year photos done by Maria Pace Photography and they came out ah.may.zing!
We had another playdate with friends at the park, where Acelyn was loving the new freedom of walking everywhere she wanted to go and getting to play like a big girl!
She passed out one night laying flat on my stomach, which was a welcome break from her fidgeting and taking forever to be rocked to sleep like the norm, lately.
Acelyn got into mischief in the bathroom for the 2.5 seconds I turned my back to brush my teeth.
We hung out at The Linq with Grandma and visited the Flamingo Habitat, where the kids loved seeing all the ducks and birds. We ate lunch at the new In-N-Out and grabbed some Sprinkles for dessert... couldn't have been a more perfect lunch!
Acelyn looked yummy in her raspberry outfit, ironically eating some ice cream cones and being adorable!
Acelyn had her first Frosty from Wendy's and she loooooved it!
She has started playing Peek-a-Boo with everything and finds it so funny when you play with her!
We celebrated Easter with our friends and family!
Acelyn found throwing her Bunny wand from the Easter Bunny was the funniest thing ever, and had a laughing fit over it with the sweetest giggles.
They played with their bubble maker that the Easter Bunny brought, and had a blast chasing the millions of bubbles it pumps out! So fun!
Girlfriend is legit the messiest eater alive... and showed us why she can't keep her bows in while we eat, anymore.
Nolan had his first visit to the dentist, and while I was a bit nervous on how he would do, he surprised me and did amazing! He was so brave and was such a big helper, doing everything they asked him to do while getting his teeth cleaned, examined and even x-rayed! He had a great bill of health with no cavities and his teeth looked great. He was stoked to get some stickers and a cute little dental kit at the end, and still talks about going to the dentist with such excitement! Hopefully that sticks around for years to come! Ha.
After his appointment, we met Grandpa at the park for lunch and to feed the ducks. Acelyn loved chasing the ducks in the grass, the both kids think it's the funniest thing to feed them.
We went on a walk around the neighborhood with the wagon, where the kids snacked and I pulled them around the block.
Acelyn learned how to blow kisses and wash her hands in the same week!
We met up with the Jess and the kids again for another park date, while our guys were out for a bachelor party, so we dined on Chick Fil-A at the park and played until bedtime!
Acelyn helped with laundry one afternoon after nap time.
And she told me a story another afternoon after lunch.
We played more Peek-a-Boo, but this time, with a dress.
There was an in-home craft fair right around the block from us one Friday night, so we took a quick trip over and looked around. The Waffle Love truck was there so, of course, we had to grab some yummy dessert to bring back home!
The last Saturday of the month, we visited Touch-a-Truck, and it was nothing short of amazing for Nolan! We had wanted to do this last year, but ended up in the hospital when I went into early labor due to early contractions, so we had to cut it out of our plans then. This year, I made sure nothing would get in the way of Nolan's special day (which is why we had Acelyn's party on Sunday!) Nolan had the best day of his life, and got to see literally every truck he's ever talked about, touch it, sit in it, honk their horns... you name it! It was a great event and we can't wait for next years already!
We started with an ambulance where Nolan walked through and was given a tour of all their supplies and cool things on board. We saw Highway Patrol, and Nolan got to drive the Pink Jeep Tours truck. He was reallllly excited to see a school bus and walk inside of one! We saw motorcycles and truck beds, and he sat in a huge dump truck!
I was nervous all the horns and honking would bother Acelyn and freak Nolan out, but both of them handled it perfectly and had no care in the world! Nolan was in heaven over the construction trucks the most, and of course, his beloved garbage trucks!
He looked SO tiny compared to some of these huge trucks! He helped out in a U-Haul, rode in a BLM Fire Truck with Daddy, and really enjoyed the different types of fire engines he got to explore!
We took a visit through the Tumble Gym Bus which was pretty cool, and Nolan asked to do it over and over again. Finally, we ended the day with a bang by seeing a helicopter, and assisting in a UPS truck (Nolan always calls it a PBS truck for some reason!) He thought it was so cool to honk the horn and register the packages in with the controller. Now he knows exactly how all of our packages get to the house (since you know... we get a lot! Ha!)
It was an amazing day and we're so glad Nolan had the best time. Can't wait for next year!
We celebrated Acelyn's birthday party a week early at the end of the month, and had the best Kentucky Derby themed day with our family and friends! After her party, she napped HARD.
...Until next month!
