Acelyn: One Week

It's been one week since we've brought our little lady into this world and she continues to be the most adorable little thing!  Acelyn loves to sleep and I'm finding I have to wake her most of the time for her feedings, which is every 2.5 hours during the day and 3 hours at night.  We've had a few occasions where little Miss has mixed her days and nights up, but it's only happened on two occasions of partying all night and getting only an hour or so of sleep. Hopefully we'll get that straightened out soon!

Acelyn has been nursing exclusively, which is our plan if all goes well with her latching correctly and gaining weight.  At her 3 day old appointment, she continued to weigh the same as when we left the hospital, at 6 pounds, 3 ounces.  She has a funky latch currently that we're working on adjusting, because her mouth is just so tiny and she can't quite get her bottom lip flared out or her mouth open wide enough!  We will see next week at her 2 week well check if she's gaining weight well enough!

Nolan has adjusted well to his sissy being home, and always asks to hold her and gives her lots of love and kisses.  He loves showing her his toys and she will lay on the floor watching him (for as long as she can stay awake!) while he plays with his cars and shows her all of his different trucks.  We like to read books together before bedtime, and he thinks it's the best thing in the world to be able to share reading time with his sister!

Acelyn had her first photoshoot at one week and although she didn't want to sleep for much of it, she was a trooper and was totally calm and quiet while Kyla snapped away at her pretty little face.  We can't wait to see how her pictures turned out!  At one week, Acelyn also lost her umbilical cord, which was way faster than Nolan's- as his fell off around 4 weeks!

We are absolutely loving everything about having Acelyn in our family and already can't picture life without her!
