Acelyn: Three Weeks
Acelyn still continues to be an easy baby and is getting more precious day by day. This last week, she has learned to stay more awake and alert, and can last an hour to an hour and a half awake before taking another hour to hour and a half nap again. We introduced her play mat to her this week, and she was alert in checking herself out in the mirror as well as finding a few dangling toys hanging above her! Of course Nolan finds it fascinating to be able to play with her, but it's a constant reminder of being gentle and calm when she's around.... We're working on it!
Acelyn is still nursing and I'm hoping is continuing to gain weight (we don't have another well check until her 1 month appointment). She looks like she is chunking up in our eyes, but it's so hard to tell! (And of course, I'm the hardest on myself about her weight gain and probably worry way too much about it). She's become a spitter this week and has had some cases of some massive spit ups and blow outs. I'm trying out a dairy-free diet to see if that helps eliminate the exorcist-style spitting up, so we'll see what happens.
She continues to nap in her swing and sleeps in the Rock N' Play at night time. She normally hates her carseat, but we had a breakthrough at Target this week when she slept in it the whole trip (over an hour)! She still loves cuddling on our chests and of course, we love it, too! We also tried our Solly wrap for the first time this week, and baby girl seemed to enjoy being snuggled in close to Mama and slept like an angel the whole time.
Her hair is already lightening up and is growing quickly... she has a baby mullet in the back and I can almost put it in the tiniest back pony, if I wanted! She has started making more vocal noises when she's uncomfortable (mostly when she has gas), and we constantly laugh about how such a tiny, petite little girl can make the craziest, loudest and gross noises!
We're working on getting into more of a routine around the house as Jason went back to work this week and we spent our first days alone as a trio. Hoping to have some sort of normalcy and routine in the next few weeks, and hopefully it will be easier as Acelyn gets older and we can take her out a little bit more rather than being stuck in the house a majority of the time!
