Acelyn: Two Weeks
Acelyn is the sweetest little baby and still continues to eat and sleep well! She is continuing nursing and has gained weight at her two week checkup, moving from 6 lbs. 3 ounces at her previous appointment to putting on weight up to 6 pounds, 15 ounces this time around! Yay! Such a relief for myself! Nolan had such a hard time nursing and latching that I've been really trying to keep up on making sure Acelyn has a decent latch and is getting the maximum amount of milk that she can, eating every 2.5-3 hours during the day and every 3 hours at night.
Minus her first trip to her doctor, Acelyn made a few more outings in her second week of life. We took a trip to Panera Bread for breakfast before our return to the hospital for her routine metabolic screening visit, and she also made her first trip to Target (of many, many more to come)!
Her favorite places to be are in her swing or snuggling with us, on our chest or in our arms or on our legs. She loves watching her big brother for the short amount of time that she is awake, and is starting to stay awake for a tiny bit longer than last week. She can last about an hour max and then she's out for the count, or sometimes needs a little help with soothing herself to sleep again with either us comforting her or her soothe pacifier (she's still working on taking it well, it's hit or miss).
We can't wait to see her grow over the next month or two, since we know how quickly this newborn stage flies by!
